Chongchuan district in Nantong, Jiangsu province, experienced a surge in innovative development over the past year.

In 2023, the output of high-tech industry in the district accounted for 61.6 percent of Chongchuan's total industrial output, the highest among all counties and districts within Nantong.

Last year alone, the district identified 152 new municipal-level science and innovation projects, along with 95 new national-level high-tech enterprises. Among these emerging leaders is ETA Semiconductor Ltd, a prominent company in Chongchuan's electronics and integrated circuit industry.

Focusing on the pressing demands of the automotive chip market, ETA Semiconductor has introduced several vehicle-grade chip products. The company has earned the distinction of being a unicorn enterprise at provincial level for two consecutive years.

Nantong Global Technology, located in the district's Shibei High-tech Zone, excels in the research and development of intelligent automotive chassis systems.

Through strengthening its collaboration with academic institutions, the company has established a forward-looking research institute in Shanghai and joint research institutes with prestigious universities like Tongji University. Its main products, including an electronic parking brake system (EPB) and its electronic stability control system (ESC), have surpassed production capacities of over a million units.

The district's innovative prowess was further accentuated as 10 local enterprises garnered recognition as "little giant" firms at the national level, with an additional 25 securing this status at the provincial level. Additionally, six projects from Chongchuan were honored with provincial scientific and technological awards.
