The e-commerce livestreaming base in Motou town, Rugao, is busy every night, showcasing various agricultural products.

The town is leveraging the additional sales by livestreaming to help local products reach a larger market.

The livestreaming base also provides support for the 232 family farms in the town, including cold storage, processing, packaging, and transportation.

Many family farm owners regard live streaming as a type of farm work that opens up a larger market for their products and improves their lives.

The town is also cultivating e-commerce anchors by inviting online celebrities to teach them. It has trained nearly 10 e-commerce anchors so far.

Deng Xun, a young farmer, is currently learning new sales models. "I have always wanted to explore e-commerce, but I didn’t know how, so I cherish the learning opportunity provided by my hometown’s government," said Deng.

According to data, Motou town has conducted more than 100 livestreams this year, with 250,000 viewers, increasing the sales of family farms by an average of 35 percent and the per capita income of surrounding farmers by more than 5,200 yuan ($733.296).
