New modern food market opens in Chongchuan
In a significant step forward in its efforts to transform and upgrade local food markets, a new trading market in Chongchuan district, Nantong, Jiangsu province opened on Dec 12.
This market currently serves as a demonstration project for the transformation and upgrading of vegetable markets in Nantong.
Spanning two floors with a total area of about 4,000 square meters, the market boasts a total of 60 stalls and shops, with 43 dedicated to traditional vegetable market stalls and 17 to storefronts.
The market's management emphasizes strict adherence to hygiene standards, ensuring effective environmental management. Intelligent facilities such as smart scales, a traceability system for meat and soy products, and a rapid pesticide residue detection and reporting system have been implemented.
Residents nearby said that the market environment is clean and well-lit, the variety of goods available is extensive, and the fruits and vegetables are notably fresh, with transparent and clearly marked prices.
