Education, industry collaboration thrives in Hai'an
Hai'an, a county-level city in Nantong, Jiangsu province, has been committed to deepening ties between local businesses and universities, aiming to provide ample research talent for companies and promote overall industrial growth.
In recent years, nearly 180 enterprises in the city have established partnerships with various academic institutions.
On Nov 2, Hai'an organized a symposium to advance the integration of education and industry. During the event, agreements were signed between educational institutions such as the Nantong Institute of Technology, Heilongjiang College of Business and Technology, the local government, and businesses.
The newly-established Nantong Junhua Vocational School, along with university student training bases and comprehensive research centers, were inaugurated during the event.
Chen Mingyu, president of Nantong Institute of Technology, said at the event that "our university currently serves over 50 enterprises in Hai'an, with 19 ongoing projects. Next, we plan to leverage our 15 invention patents to facilitate better integration in Hai'an".
In addition, Hai'an has collaborated with renowned institutions like Nanjing University and Shanghai Jiao Tong University and established 10 joint industry research institutes.
Comprehensive strategic partnerships have been forged with universities such as the Nantong Institute of Technology, Nantong University, and Jiangnan University. Over 150 joint research and development centers have been established between universities and local businesses, resulting in over 1,500 collaborative projects in the past five years.
