Hai'an, a county-level city in Nantong, Jiangsu province, has secured the 28th spot on China's index of the top 100 counties for comprehensive strength, according to a recent study unveiled by Guangming Daily.

This achievement is attributed to the county's ongoing efforts to boost high-quality development by fostering the growth of distinctive industries, promoting technological innovation, and enhancing its urban environment.

The elevator industry has emerged as a significant contributor to the county's economic landscape, propelling rapid development across related businesses. Jiangsu WELM Technology Co Ltd is one enterprise in the sector and has achieved the full automation of its production processes. The company currently boasts nine fully automated surface mount technology production lines, which have helped increase its capacity from 5,000 to approximately 12,000 pieces per hour.

The local commitment to innovation has led to a rise in the number of high-tech enterprises in Hai'an. The city is currently home to 461 high-tech enterprises, including 20 national-level "little giant" companies.

Beyond industrial and innovative progress, Hai'an has also made significant strides in improving its living environment.

In response to the increasing popularity of electric vehicles and to facilitate public transportation, Hai'an is actively promoting the construction of new energy charging stations. By the end of this month, 150 charging stations are expected to be fully operational.

Due to the improved living environment, the city has received accolades such as National Civilized City and China's Most Livable City, underscoring its commitment to creating a high-quality living space.
