Shi Yuexin, a fencer from Haimen district, Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, claimed the women's epee team gold medal with her teammates at the Chengdu FISU World University Games on Aug 5.

Shi and her teammates defeated the United States team, the Hungary team and the Italian team with scores of 45:31, 45:39, and 34:28.

For Shi, an undergraduate at Beijing Sport University and member of the national fencing team, this is her first time receiving such an honor.

Shi has also made outstanding achievements at several international competitions and will prepare for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
