Haimen district in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province has in recent years been making efforts to bolster its biomedical industry.

The district's Linjiang New Area, which was a desolate beach 10 years ago, is currently home to more than 200 biomedical enterprises, including Biocytogen, Haimen Precisiongenes Co, Thousand Oaks Biopharmacy Co and Innostar Biotech Co.

Jiang Xin, general manager of Haimen Precisiongenes Co, said that the district's favorable business environment as well as related talent and funding policies have provided significant help to his start-up.

Jiang Shihao, director of KMQ Biotech Co's animal science department, said that he decided to work here largely due to its living environment and supporting facilities.

The area has implemented a series of measures, including creating 10-minute life circles, building talent apartments, an art gallery, a theater, and schools, and introducing convenient stores and cafes, to provide a good experience to those working in the area.
