Enterprises and government sectors in Tongzhou district, Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, have resumed work after the week-long Spring Festival holiday on Jan 21-27.

All 236 service windows in the Tongzhou government service center opened on Jan 28 - the first workday after the holiday.

As of 10 am that day, the center had handled over 100 items.

"Our staff arrived five minutes in advance to prepare," said Zhang Kai, Party secretary of the Nantong social security bureau.

Jinsha subdistrict authorities held a meeting on Jan 28 to encourage staff and lay out key work.

According to the meeting, the subdistrict this year aims to boost the construction of key projects and promote the agriculture and tourism industries in rural areas.
