Residents in Tongzhou district, Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province will be able to ride public buses for free during the Spring Festival holiday from Jan 21 to 27, local media reported.

The measure is aimed at encouraging green travel and providing greater convenience for migrant employees who will stay in Tongzhou during the Spring Festival holiday.

Residents must wear masks when they take the bus, according to Tongzhou Changxing Public Bus Co Ltd.
