Jinsha subdistrict in Tongzhou district, Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, has made strides in the modern agriculture industry in recent years, local media reported.

To date, the subdistrict has spent more than 35 million yuan ($5.16 million) building nearly 10,000 mu (666.67 hectares) of high-standard farmlands.

The high-standard farmlands in the district are large-scale, standardized, and have a green production model that has improved productivity.

In addition, technology such as internet of things and big data have been applied to high-standard farmlands.

For example, the subdistrict has set up an integrated monitoring station that can carry out real-time monitoring of the air temperature, precipitation, soil values, and condition of crops.

The subdistrict has also established an automatic control and monitoring system that realizes the long-range control of four pump stations, 45 electric gate hoists, and three water gauge loggings.

In 2022, the subdistrict introduced 14 pieces of intelligent equipment for agriculture that have improved the agricultural mechanization rate.

The subdistrict has also improved its business operation model.

"The farmland under the trusteeship of the cooperative helps farmers reduce grain production costs by several hundred yuan per mu," said Yao Zhicai, director of the Caifuyou farming cooperative.

The subdistrict is currently home to eight farmer's cooperatives and one service center for agricultural issues.
