Nantong makes strides in cultivating native-oriented talents

The first edition of the Native-oriented Talents Skills Exhibition held in Nantong had a turnover of over 80,000 yuan ($11,186), according to the Nantong municipal human resources department.

Aimed at presenting local traditional skills, the exhibition featured more than 700 representative products and four interactive lectures.

The exhibition, which lasted four days, attracted more than 4,000 visitors and witnessed the signing of nearly 400 orders.

Nantong has in recent years been focusing on the cultivation of native-oriented talents with traditional skills who can inherit traditional skills and drive industrial development.

To date, 73 local talents with traditional skills in the city have been awarded with intermediate professional titles and 90 talents have been given senior titles.

Nantong is currently home to 32 provincial studios of local masters with traditional skills, and three demonstration bases for cultivating local talents.
