The dance "Hometown blown by the sea breeze" performed by the Ruridongsheng dance team of Rudong was selected as the provincial-level excellent dance and will be promoted throughout the province, local media reported.

The goal of promoting excellent plaza dances is to showcase the spiritual and cultural lives of people in the province.

In Rudong, every village has its own plaza dance team. Rudong authorities also provide each town and sub-district in the county with coaches to teach people how to dance.

Today, more than 10,000 people in Rudong have received training in this respect.

Due to efforts to promote plaza dance, Rudong has won first place in the Nantong plaza dance contest for two consecutive years, said Wu Jianyi, chairman of the Rudong association of plaza dance. Rudong also placed first in the provincial plaza dance contest in 2018.

This year, Rodong's plaza dance team will continue to participate in the fifth provincial plaza dance contest on behalf of Nantong.
