Two magicians of the Rudong Junior Acrobatics Troupe in Rudong, Nantong, recently won awards at the 28th International Federation of Magic Societies World Championships of Magic in Canada.
Ding Yang, who won the award for the magic show Moonlight Doves, departed for Canada in June right after her performance in Las Vegas, the United States.
Ding had more than a month to practice her magic show, during which time she made some improvements to the show with teachers at daytime and performed magic shows at theaters at nighttime.
"Thanks to days of hard practice, I felt very confident when I performed in front of world-class magicians even though it was my first time participating in the worldwide magic convention," said Ding.
Ding revealed that she has been invited to perform at the Budapest Gala Shows 2024.
Zhu Mingzhu, another Rudong magician, participated at the FISM World Championships of Magic for the second time, but this time he was faced with a tricky situation as his props were damaged during delivery.
Zhu said that during the month before the competition, he made telephone calls every day to find somewhere to fix the prop. Finally he found a factory but his props cannot be completely repaired and can only be used temporarily.
Despite these setbacks, Zhu still won the invention award with his artistic and innovative performance.
