An exhibition on the headwear culture in China is currently underway at the Qidong Museum in Qidong, Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province.

The exhibition displays 103 relics in four zones to showcase the evolution of the headwear cultures of various Chinese ethnic groups, the history of children's headwear, and headwear manufacturing.

The exhibition will run until the end of September.

From the initial demand to survive the cold to a symbol of power and status, headwear has played an important role in China's etiquette culture, said Chen Mei, director of the Qidong Museum.
