Haimen Grand Theater to open in January

Work on the newly built Haimen Grand Theater in Haimen district, Nantong will be completed soon with its initial performance scheduled to be staged in January 2022, Haimen Daily reported.
Located south of Dongbuzhou Road and east of Zhangjian Avenue, the theater collectively forms the Chinese character "品" along with Jianghai Museum and Haimen Library.
The theater covers a total floor area of 48,260.77 square meters. It is comprised of a 1,500-sq m performance hall, a smaller performance hall, three rehearsal rooms, a studio, eight cinemas, and a commercial area.
The large hall has 974 seats, a main stage, and an 85-sq m lifting orchestra pit that can accommodate up to 100 performers.
The small hall, which can hold 422 spectators, is designed for small-scale concerts, plays, cultural performances, and free public lectures.
