Linjiang New Area, located in Haimen district in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, has a 16-kilometer bank along the Yangtze River. Ten years ago, it was filled with mud flats. After a decade of development, the area has turned into a town with developed industries and a favorable environment.
Dongbuzhou Changtan Park, built along the Yangtze River, has planted 30,000 square meters of ornamental pink muhly grass (muhlenbergia capillaris) and 18,000 metasequoia trees and built a 6-km landscaped walkway.
This year, Linjiang New Area carried out a renovation project on the park. Infrastructure such as lighting facilities along roads, benches and public bicycles were added. A 3.5-km annular cycling lane was also built in the park.
In recent years, Linjiang New Area has been focusing on building a town integrating industry, science, technology, and the environment. Chemical enterprises and some manufacturing companies that harm the environment were moved out of the New Area.
A slew of platforms, including a biomedical sci-tech park, a sci-tech park for small and medium-sized enterprises and a park engaged in science education and cultural creativity, were built there to develop the biopharmaceutical and new material industries.
