Four residential communities in Nantong were recently recognized as 2021 national demonstration senior-friendly communities by the National Health Commission. 

Kongmiao community in Rugao was among the four entries, with the other three being Chunhui community in Chongchuan district, Guanghua community in Haimen district, as well as Tongsheng community in Nantong Economic and Technological Development Area.

Located in downtown Rugao, Kongmiao community covers an area of 30 hectares and is home to 5,796 residents, including 1,650 people aged 60 and above.

In recent years, the community has attached great importance to improving the living standards for seniors, establishing a senior care service system involving entertainment, exercise, medical treatment, and daily nursing.

The efforts have not only won recognition among local residents, but also brought the community municipal and provincial honors.
