Yuba village in Dagong town, Hai'an – a county-level city administered by Nantong in East China's Jiangsu province – is well known for specializing in cultivating delicious and popular pears.

It is now harvest time, but affected by Typhoon In-Fa and the impact of the novel coronavirus, both the output and price of the pears has slightly decreased this year.

In order to ensure the market gets more than 5,000 tons of pears, Yuba village has undertaken a number of measures, such as integrating its online and offline marketing to expand sales channels and help farmers increase their incomes.

"On the one hand, we vigorously promoted our pears in the industrial park in Dagong town and attracted representatives from more than 20 enterprises to buy the pears," said Yang Yong, secretary of the village's Party branch.

"On the other hand, we've sold the fruit through friends and relatives."

Yuba village is also a demonstration village for rural revitalization, recognized by the city of Nantong. In recent years, it has taken the initiative to guide its residents to plant pears in large areas and formed a "Party branch + cooperative + peasant household" operating mode.

In September 2019, Yuba was on the ninth national list of "one village, one specialty" demonstration villages.
