The first "one integrated license" in Rugao, Nantong was issued to a local pharmacy chain on Aug 16, marking the launch of the city's "one integrated license" reform.

The "one integrated license" is one of the major measures to streamline administration and delegate power, improve regulation, and upgrade services.

It combines the previously-needed multiple licenses and can significantly reduce the cost of industry access.

"In the past, we had to fill four forms and submit four copies of materials to apply for four different certificates needed to open a pharmacy," said a top executive of the pharmacy chain.

"The 'one integrated license' requires just one form and one set of materials, and takes only three working days to acquire," the executive added.

A total of 20 sectors in Rugao including restaurants, pharmacies, supermarkets, and hotels will spearhead the integrated license reform.

Officials said that more sectors will be included in the future to cover aspects that are closely related to people's daily lives and consumption.
