On Nov 18, a special exhibition showcasing over 400 pieces of porcelain exported during the Ming and Qing dynasties (1368-1911) opened in Rugao, Nantong.
The collection has been curated by Wu Pei, who serves as the president of the Jiangsu Chamber of Commerce Benelux and the vice-president of the European Federation of Traditional Chinese Culture. Drawing from nearly three decades of personal collections, Wu has selected items that provide visitors with a distinctive cultural experience, enabling them to appreciate the unique allure of porcelain.
Wu emphasized that each exquisite porcelain piece carries historical significance and tells a past story. These items are not just commodities but messengers of cultural exchange, spreading China's brilliant culture to the world.
In his opening speech, He Yijun, Party secretary of Rugao, highlighted the city's rich history, vibrant culture, and beautiful landscapes. He invited visitors to journey through ancient streets and alleys and experience the city's innovative atmosphere and development.
