A total of 76 fishing boats set off from Haimen district, Nantong for the Yellow Sea on Aug 1 after three months of rest, local media outlets reported.

With the fishing season resuming, a variety of seafood is expected to return to people's dining tables.

According to a local fisherman Zhang Weibing, who has been in the business for seven years, the fishermen will return to shore in two weeks if there is no typhoon, and this year’s catch is expected to be larger than previous years because of the stricter fishing regulations.

The local agricultural administration has since mid-July been inspecting fishing boats in preparation for the fishing season.
