To provide a boost for residents, the municipal water resources bureau and the municipal administration of Nantong in East China's Jiangsu province combined forces to establish the city's first outdoors watercourse park – the Puganghe Watercourse Park – which opened recently.
Located in Chongchuan district, the park is built along an 800-meter watercourse from Shixin Road in the south to Shikang Road in the north.
Following the overall upgrading and transformation on the existing green spaces along a local river, the park has a colorful footpath running through it – as well as overwater bridges and waterside cycling paths – to create a great ambience for visitors.
There are about 8,000 square meters of landscaped area and 13,500 sq m of open green space in the park.
