The second phase of the ChemChina Crop Protection Industrial Park, located in the Rudong Coastal Economic Development Zone in Rudong county – administered by Nantong in East China's Jiangsu province, is currently undergoing construction.

Jiangsu Youjia Crop Protection Co Ltd, a subsidiary of Syngenta (China) Group, which is a Global 500 company, is in charge of the construction of the industrial park and plans to invest 10 billion yuan ($1.55 billion) within five years.

In June 2017, China National Chemical Corporation announced that it had completed the acquisition and delivery of Syngenta for $43 billion, putting it among the biggest companies in the global agrochemical industry.

Relying on Syngenta's leading technologies and management standards on safety and environmental protection, the ChemChina Crop Protection Industrial Park has entered a rapid development period.

The first phase of the park has started to produce trial products l, with all production lines meeting their designed capacity. Sales are expected to top 2 billion yuan this year, leading to taxes of nearly 400 million yuan. The second phase, which is under construction, is scheduled to have equipment installed at the beginning of June and begin producing some trial products at the end of this year.

After completion, the project will be able to produce 15 kinds of crop protection products with high efficiency and low toxicity, and is expected to increase annual taxable sales by nearly 3 billion yuan.

Kong Yong, general manager of Youjia Crop Protection, said that the completion of the industrial park will accelerate the process of eliminating highly toxic pesticides in China.

Pyrethroid is the flagship product of Youjia. In the past, pyrethroid products could only be imported. Youjia has now localized the product through independent innovation. The industrial production of green and clean pyrethroid products has driven China's pesticide industry to become more efficient, safe and environmentally-friendly, which is of great significance in ensuring food safety and food health, Kong added.
