Chongchuan district holds talent-finance matchmaking meeting
In a bid to establish a communications platform for financial institutions and companies started up by high-level talents, the Chongchuan district of Nantong – a prefecture-level city in East China's Jiangsu province – held a matchmaking meeting on April 8.
Seven financial institutions and more than 50 talent start-ups attended the meeting, which was addressed by Mao Jianping, deputy head of Chongchuan.
At the meeting, the district's talent office and science and technology bureau, as well as accounting firms and other financial institutions gave their suggestions and ideas.
They presented ideas on incentives and subsidy policies, as well as sharing their fiscal and taxation knowledge and explained various financial products that could be useful for talent start-ups in accordance with their actual needs.
The idea was to promote cooperation between financial institutions and start-ups, to better meet their financing requirements
The Chongchuan district has reportedly been promoting a development strategy for industry-talent integration and in recent years has made great efforts to improve the environment for the development of talent.
As of 2020, the district had seven talented professional people who were selected for national major talent projects, three for provincial innovative and entrepreneurial teams – with 75 provincial innovative and entrepreneurial talents and 128 talents included in the Nantong Jianghai Talent Program.
Currently, 16 start-ups created by high-level talents in Chongchuan district have obtained financing totaling 1.04 billion yuan ($159.2 million). Five of them have raised more than 100 million yuan each and two plan to list on the stock market next year.
