NPC deputy Tang Huijuan, Party secretary of a pork production cooperative in Haimen, submitted several motions concerning the development of the poultry and livestock breeding industry.

Tang said that the industry is faced with the dilemma of increasing demand while lacking land to expand production.

She suggested that the central and local governments heed the industry's needs in their overall land planning and cut red tape in approval procedures for collecting and renting rural land.
