Hai'an attracts 15 major agricultural and industrial projects
An investment promotion meeting on modern agriculture was held in Shanghai on Nov 20.
At the meeting, 15 key agricultural projects such as the third phase of the Zhonghui food industrial park and a concentration area in Lifa sub-district integrating distinctive agricultural products processing and cold chain logistics, were signed to settle in Hai'an, a county-level city administered by Nantong, with a contract amount totaling 2.4 billion yuan ($365 million).
In recent years, the Hai'an government and municipal Party committee have prioritized the development of rural areas, vigorously promoting the green, high-quality and branding development of agriculture to realize a leap from traditional to modern agriculture.
Hai'an has grown as a national green food raw material production base, a national key city of the vegetable industry and a national demonstration city for safe fisheries. The annual yield of rice and wheat has ranked first in Jiangsu province for 14 consecutive years.
In addition, the city has cultivated dozens of renowned leading agricultural enterprises such as Zhongyang, Xinyuan and Tiancheng, and advanced the featured advantageous industries of high-quality rice, silkworm breeding, mulberry growing, poultry and eggs, aquatic products and green vegetables and fruits.
