The installation of all 40 box girders on the bridge of Nantong-Rugao Avenue over the Wuxi-Nantong Expressway was completed on Sept 5 after seven days of work, marking a significant milestone in the road's construction.

The two-way six-lane road, which connects Nantong West Railway Station with the downtown area of Rugao, stretches for 28 kilometers and has a designed speed of 100 km per hour. 

The road includes 18 bridges and nine ramp bridges and is the largest transportation project in Rugao in terms of investment.

The project has adopted a number of new technologies, techniques and equipment and has been granted seven patents.

The road is expected to be put into use on Sept 30 and will incorporate Rugao into the expressway network linking Nantong and the southern part of Jiangsu province.
