Annual entrepreneur week opens in Haimen

The annual Dongzhou Elites Venture Week kicked off in Haimen district, Nantong on July 17.
Nearly 400 business leaders, government officials and scholars from more than 40 universities and research institutes took part in the event.
At the opening ceremony, a talent town, a pharmaceutical material laboratory, and the Jiangsu branch of Shanghai Robot Industrial Technology Research Institute were unveiled and each presented with 3 million yuan ($434,700) in subsidy by Chen Yong, Party secretary of Haimen.
"High-quality development cannot be achieved without skilled workers," said Chen when addressing the ceremony.
The event has been held three years in a row and aims to optimize talent policies, improve government services, and attract more skilled workers and innovative projects to the district.
Chen expressed hope that the guests would learn more about Haimen's favorable business environment and development advantages through the event and bring in more technology, projects and capital as a result.
During the event, Shen Hongbing, president of Nanjing Medical University, Shen Haiyin, founder of new energy vehicle startup Singulato Motors, Zhou Xinhua, president of Genor Biopharma Co, and Miao Qing, general manager of Kronos Greater China Region, made keynote speeches.
A total of 22 entrepreneurship projects were also signed.
