"Thousand AKS Biopharmaceuticals is striving to become a leader in the domestic cell-culture medium sector," said Luo Shun, chairman of the company, as the construction of its production center goes smoothly in Haimen, Nantong.

The company was established at a bio-tech industrial park in Linjiang New Area in May 2017 and focuses on the research, development and production of cell-culture medium.

The cell-culture medium production center covers about 5 hectares and will be equipped with highly automated facilities. It is expected to start operating in late 2020. 

"Cell-culture medium plays a fundamental role in the production of biopharmaceuticals," said Luo, a post-doctorate researcher at Harvard Medical School. "The production center will help boost the development of R&D-oriented biopharmaceuticals in Haimen."

While discussing the company's growth, Luo thanked the Haimen government for its support in organizing financing and land use. He said that Linjiang New Area is an ideal place for scientific research with a pleasant environment, convenient transport, and preferential policies for talents.

"The favorable business environment and the government's support have given me full confidence to develop the company into an industrial leader," Luo said.
