A new generation of high-end Yangtze River cruises started development on July 10 at the Haimen base for the China Merchants Industry (CMI).
The cruise is being funded by Changjiang Overseas Cruise Travel Co Ltd and developed by China Merchants Cruise Co Ltd. It is mainly used for vacations on the Yangtze river from Chongqing to Shanghai. The ship is 149.99 meters long, 23 meters wide, and 4.7 meters tall. It can sail at speeds of up to 25 km/h and has a maximum capacity of 600 people.
"The cruise ship is eco-friendly and technologically advanced, made with state-of-the-art materials," said Zheng Hehui, deputy general manager of the Haimen base for the China Merchants Industry.
According to Zheng, this makes the ship more comfortable and helps it save energy. The ship is equipped with intelligent control technology for air conditioning and river cruise navigation.
This new Yangtze River cruise is expected to help raise the quality and enhance the reputation of Yangtze River tourism.
