Hai'an invests 3.5b yuan in people-oriented projects
In response to the increasing public demand for quality education and healthcare resources, the Hai'an municipal government has invested 3.5 billion yuan ($497.8 million) in 31 key people-benefit projects concerning education and healthcare, further expanding educational resources and improving medical conditions.
Many buildings in the Nanmo branch of Hai'an people's hospital are age-old, and insufficiency of covered areas brought about unreasonable partitions between outpatient emergency treatment and wards.
The new branch has a planning area of 13,000 square meters, 100 newly added beds, four floors for emergency treatment and two floors for intelligent wards. The outpatient emergency treatment is capable of handling more than 500 visits a day.
According to Jiang Zhibao, director of Nanmo central hospital, a remote consultation center will be built in the new branch to provide high-quality medical services for the surrounding people by accessing technology support and information from Hai'an people's hospital.
In 2020, Hai'an will optimize the structure and layout of medical resources in the city, striving to meet people's basic demands for medical and healthcare services. More hospitals and community healthcare centers will be completed by the end of this year.
Yufu branch of Hai'an No 3 Kindergarten is under construction. With investment of 57 million yuan, it will set up nine classes in total and can accommodate about 300 kids. It is undergoing interior decoration and is scheduled to open in September.
Six more kindergartens, two primary schools and one senior high school in Hai'an will be completed before the autumn semester begins that month.
