The train depot in Gangzha district, Nantong, Jiangsu province successfully completed an operation test on its energized overhead lines on June 3, bringing the depot closer to officially opening.

The test lasted for 13 hours and involved communications, signals, and electrical engineering. All indexes met the requirements.

Due to the comprehensive nature of the test, many people worked overtime to prepare. The overhead line system was successfully energized early on the morning of June 6, ensuring the test could be carried out smoothly.

The train depot is 2.9 kilometers long and is 200 to 300 meters wide. In its 65-hectare area, it houses a six-lane checking station, 20 vehicle storage tracks, two manual washing lines, and reserves space for four-lane checking station and 16 additional vehicle storage tracks.

It will be able to simultaneously provide maintenance and cleaning services for 12 high-speed trains.

The depot will be put into official operation at the same time as the Nantong-Shanghai Railway in July, making Nantong the third city in the province to have a train depot, following Nanjing and Xuzhou.
