A conference on the industrial internet was held in Rudong county, Nantong on June 3, according to local officials.

Experts in the field were invited to give speeches on typical cases, benefiting 110 local major enterprises, they said.

The industrial internet is the outcome of the deep integration of information technology and the manufacturing industries. Experts said it has become a key for countries to accelerate their economic transformation and grasp development opportunities.

Huang Yongchun, chairman of Nantong Yineng Color Steel Plate Co, was inspired by the speeches and signed a cooperation agreement with Jiangsu Zhongtian Technology Co (ZTT), which is experienced in developing the industrial internet. Several other local companies also developed cooperative relations with ZTT that same day. 

The identification and resolution system of industrial internet is currently under construction and development, experts say. They said it needs joint efforts from all parts of the industrial chain to promote wider and deeper applications of the system in various fields.

Nantong is a demonstration city in China for manufacturing and broadband. In April 2019, the city launched a second-level node involved in the national identification and resolution system of industrial internet. To date, 530 enterprises have registered and 12.87 million identifications have been registered.

Locals said the city is expected to set up three more second-level nodes in terms of marine engineering, high-end textiles and intelligent building.
