Rudong boosts emerging industries
Emerging industries are promoting economic restructuring in Rudong county, Nantong, Jiangsu province in information technology, new materials, new energy, safety, food, and health.
In the first three quarters of this year, the total value of Rudong's taxable sales reached 122.3 billion yuan ($17.31 billion), an increase of 14.64 percent, and that of emerging industries accounted for more than half of the total.
Jiangdong Technology Co, founded four years ago, is a typical enterprise in an emerging industry. Its taxable sales were valued at 600 million yuan from January to September.
Jiangsu Haizhuang Wind Power Equipment Co is a leading wind power equipment manufacturer. The company is expected to exceed 1 billion yuan in sales this year with the help of its new offshore wind power generator.
Shanghai Electric Wind Power Group's Rudong Company, which began operating in Rudong in May, plans to produce 200 offshore wind power generators this year and hopes to make 5 billion yuan in taxable sales.
The local government has provided several preferential policies to enterprises and individual taxpayers, benefiting 21,300 households. Funds established in Rudong have invested a total of 230 million yuan in five projects.
Approval processes have also been simplified and shortened from three working days to two working days.
