Gangzha promotes integrated development with Kunshan
Gangzha district in Nantong strengthened cooperative relations with Kunshan, Suzhou, a city located across the Yangtze River, at a conference held in Kunshan on May 28.
Deals for 12 projects costing 10 billion yuan ($1.40 billion) were signed during the conference. They revolve around high-end equipment manufacturing, 5G communication, automobile electronics, and more.
Gangzha district covers an area of 134 square kilometers and is home to about 400,000 permanent residents. It is a cradle of China's modern industry, and Zhang Jian, a renowned modern industrialist, founded the first national modern textile mill in the district over 100 years ago.
During the conference, representatives from research institutes, financial institutions, and enterprises in Shanghai, Suzhou, and Wuxi learned about Gangzha district through a promotional video. Representatives of enterprises operating in the district also discussed their experiences.
"Our company decided to open a branch in Gangzha due to its convenient location, advantageous policies, and developed industrial chain for automobile electronics," said a manager of Sina New Chance New Energy Technology Co, which signed an agreement with the district at the conference.
According to Huang Weifeng, secretary of Gangzha district's Party committee, the government will provide efficient services to local enterprises and reward outstanding domestic and international talent.
