Rugao scenic areas offer free admission

Three scenic areas in Rugao, Nantong will offer free admission to visitors on certain days to boost the development of the local tourism industry, according to an announcement by the Nantong commission of development and reform and the city's bureau of culture, broadcasting, television and tourism on April 20.

The scenic areas include the Changjiang Medical Botanical Garden, Dinghui Temple and the Jindao Ecological Park.

The Changjiang Medical Botanical Garden is a national 3A-level scenic spot located in the Changqingsha Island Ecological tourist resort. Covering area of about 333 hectares, it is home to more than 1,600 rare medical herbs and focuses on natural resource protection, scientific education and research, healthcare and leisure.

It will open free to the public on May 19, August 7, Nov 11, and the opening day of the 2020 Nantong Jianghai International Culture and Tourism Festival.

Dinghui Temple is located at No 2 Panchi Road in southeastern Rugao and covers an area of 1.07 hectares. It was built in 591 during the Sui Dynasty (581-618). Tourists can visit the temple for free on May 19. [Photo/WeChat account: rugaofabu]

Jindao Ecological Park is located in Changjiang town, Rugao. It is home to 30,000 ginkgo trees, 20,000 metasequoia trees and thousands of birds. It will be open free of charge on May 19, August 1, Sept 10 and Oct 25. [Photo/WeChat account: rugaofabu]
