Nantong company develops reusable isolation gown in 7 days
The non-sterile reusable isolation gown developed by Nantong Haimeng Textile Technology Co in Hai'an, Nantong, recently won official approval and is being sold around the world.
This high-tech company specializes in medium and high-quality interlinings and functional composite fabrics. It has been focusing on the development, production and sales of waterproof composite fabrics for nearly 18 years.
With a skilled R&D team led by technicians who hold master's and doctoral degrees, the company successfully developed the reusable isolation gown in just seven days' time.
"We made over 100 samples and used thousands of meters of fabric. After many trials, we finally developed the isolation gown, which meets international standards and can be reused," said a researcher at the company.

The reusable isolation gown produced by the company integrates woven fabric with waterproof and breathable membranes, while most disposable ones are made of non-woven fabric. Wearers will be protected from body fluids, droplets, aerosol and particles in the air.
The moisture permeability of the isolation gown is 4,100 grams per square meter per 24 hours, while that of common disposable gowns is only 2,500 g per sq m per 24 hours. For hydrostatic pressure resistance, the index is 100 times higher than common ones.
A total of 200 reusable isolation gowns have been donated to Wuhan, Hubei province since the company received the product certification.
The company is upgrading its workshop, after which it is expected to be able to produce 70,000 reusable isolation gowns per month.
