More than 1,000 flower and tree growers sold over 300 types of products at the Rugao World of Plantings on March 12, China's Arbor Day.

According to local community workers, the planting giant in Rugao has set up a special trade area free of charge for local growers since resuming operations after the Spring Festival. The area currently sees more than 100,000 plants sold each day.

The Rugao World of Plantings is a professional market involved in the production and trade of flowers and trees, scientific research and training, garden design and construction, sightseeing and electronic information services.

The market's turnover surpassed 18.2 billion yuan ($2.6 billion) in 2019, ranking it among the bestselling planting markets nationwide, said Ni Kangbo, executive vice-president of the company.

Since its establishment, the company has been cooperating with local growers and running its own planting centers and a trade market.

It has helped form an entire planting industrial chain in the city, cultivated 64 gardening and landscaping engineering businesses and increasing income for more than 50,000 households.
