Over 1,000 Tongzhou-based enterprises resume operations
A total of 1,046 industrial enterprises had resumed operations in Tongzhou district, Nantong, Jiangsu province by the end of Feb 18, including 604 enterprises above designated size, which refers to industrial enterprises with annual main business revenue of 20 million yuan ($2.84 million) or more.
The district government has made detailed plans and set 15 requirements for enterprises applying to resume operations. All required materials must be submitted to the government and business sites must be investigated.
Enterprises will only receive a permit to resume operations after all approval procedures have been completed.
Enterprises should also urge employees to take self-protection precautions, monitor their health conditions, and regularly disinfect public areas.
Some enterprises are not able to be productive due to a lack of workers. However, the district's bureau of human resources and social security has offered assistance in this regard.
Information on more than 1,000 job opportunities at 49 local enterprises have been posted online, and around 4,000 volunteers have been dispatched to provide services for non-native workers being quarantined at home.
Shizong town is the first town in Tongzhou district that all local industrial and service enterprises above designated size have resumed operations. In addition, around 91 percent of the top 100 enterprises in Tongzhou district and around 90 percent of major foreign trade enterprises in the district have resumed operations.
