Gangzha couple contributes to epidemic control instead of enjoying honeymoon
Jiang Jie and Liu Jia, a couple living in Gangzha district, Nantong, Jiangsu province, gave up the chance of enjoying their honeymoon to fight the novel coronavirus outbreak.
The grassroots officers in the district have been on duty every day providing 24-hour services since the outbreak of the virus.
Jiang was born in 1992 and is a security officer in Xinzha village, Gangzha district. He makes surveys in the village, publicizes notifications and tips on epidemic prevention, and pays attention to the current situations of local enterprises.
Liu was born in 1994 and is an assistant dispatched to Xinzha village by the district's public health department. She helps local restaurants, drugstores and supermarkets to prevent the virus epidemic, spreads information on the policy of prohibiting sales of live poultry, and also supervises the prices of protective articles.
They are busy at work and sometimes don't even see each other for a whole day.
"Although we can't have our honeymoon this year, it is meaningful to make efforts to help protect locals from infection," Jiang said.
