Jinghua Pharmaceutical Group Co, based in Gangzha district, Nantong, Jiangsu province, is expected to produce 600,000 bags of zhengchaihuyin granules – a Chinese drug to treat the respiratory tract infections – every day to help fight against the novel coronavirus.

The Shanghai Health Commission has listed zhengchaihuyin as one of the major recommended drugs to prevent and control the virus epidemic.

According to Cao Hongxin, former director and chief researcher of the Chinese Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, the drug can help to improve people's ability to resist the epidemic.

The company is now the only one that produces this drug in China, and it has sent a number of other drugs which can prevent viral epidemics and treat pulmonary infection to Hubei province, the center of the current coronavirus epidemic.

Yin Hongyu, chairman of Jinghua Pharmaceutical Group, said that the company has made detailed plans based on the demands of different regions and will pay close attention to the fight against the coronavirus.
