The Xiaoyangkou Tourist Resort, located in Rudong county, Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, was recently named "China's best sports-related tourist spot of 2019" by the General Administration of Sports of China.

There is a large area of shoals in the tourist resort suitable for a variety of sports, such as football, sailing, kite surfing, and more.

The county's first national-level kite surfing area and first football center have already been established in the scenic spot, and a football competition and an international kite festival are held there every year. The scenic spot also has a championship-level golf course with 27 holes. 

Last year, a total of over 3 million yuan ($434,883) was invested into construction projects related to sailing, and a provincial sailing competition was held there as well.

In addition, the resort's hot springs can help people recover after sports-related injuries. Therefore, the tourist resort also serves as a professional rehabilitation center for the province's volleyball teams and for Nantong's Zhiyun Football Team.

To provide tourists with better and safer services, workers at the tourist resort are expected to take professional training courses, and improved regulations will be issued based on tides to take better advantage of shoals and ensure the safety.
