Hai'an makes green development plans
A conference on major green development projects for 2020 was held in Hai'an, a county-level city in Nantong, Jiangsu province on Jan 2. Several local government officials attended.
According to plans discussed at the conference, the Xintongyang Canal, Chuanchang River, Hai'an-Qidong Expressway and Yancheng-Nantong Railway are listed as major green development projects for the year.
Preparation work, including investigations, design, land transactions, and project bidding, has already been completed, and the projects are expected to be completed by the end of May, with the exception of the Yancheng-Nantong Railway, which will be completed by the end of December.
Chen Pengjun, executive deputy mayor of Hai'an, urged all departments to pay close attention to the designs, seedling selection, and scientific planting for the projects. He also said that management systems should be improved to accelerate progress on the projects.
A high-ranking official from the Hai'an bureau of natural resources shared his views on the county-level city's green development plans.
