Updated: 2019-09-12

An engraving work entitled Overseas Chinese Evacuation by Rudong artist Li Xiarong is on display at the Imprint China (1949-2019) Engraved Work Exhibition, which is being held in the Art Gallery of the China Millennium Monument in Beijing from Sept 9 to Oct 10 to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.

The exhibition showcases the great achievements the PRC has made over its 70-year history through more than 400 exhibits across the country.

Overseas Chinese Evacuation, which depicts the evacuation of Chinese citizens from conflict areas overseas, is the only engraving work from Nantong city and one of three works from Jiangsu province to be displayed at the exhibition.

Li Xiarong has researched and engaged in calligraphy engraving for more than 30 years. His works were selected for the National Book-Printing Competition and have won several awards. Some of his works were also displayed at the China Oracle Bone Document Exhibition and Jinxiu Jiangsu Photo Exhibition organized by the United Nations Headquarters and the Contemporary Seal Art Exhibition sponsored by the Chinese Ministry of Culture.

His works are also collected by many art galleries and museums, including the National Art Museum of China and the Xiling Seal Club.
