Nantong’s LNG receiving capacity ranks first in China

The station has received 78 LNG container ships by far in 2018, with the LNG receiving capacity reaching 5.938 million tons, up 31.6 percent and 35.9 percent year-on-year, respectively. 

According to Nantong’s maritime safety administration, Yangkou port received 11 LNG container ships in November, at a time when the Yangtze River Delta region hit a peak of gas consumption due to the onset of colder weather.

As China’s first LNG receiving station invested in, designed and managed independently by PetroChina, PetroChina Jiangsu LNG Receiving Station has received 274 LNG container ships from countries including Qatar, Australia, Norway and Russia over the past 7 years, with the receiving capacity exceeding 22.93 million tons.

Nantong has built Rudong Yangkou port PetroChina Jiangsu LNG Receiving Station and Qidong port Guanghui Energy LNG Receiving Station to date.

In the first 11 months of 2018, a total of 96 LNG ships docked at the two stations, and the LNG receiving capacity exceeded 6.5 million tons, ranking first in terms of the receiving frequency and capacity of LNG container ships in China.
