The 2018 food safety promotion week kicked off in Hai’an, Nantong, on July 17, and lasted until July 29.

The food safety promotion week is aimed at publicizing the food safety laws and regulations and correct concepts for food safety, raising public awareness and guiding food practitioners to firmly abide by the law and recognize their responsibilities.

Zhang Weifeng, deputy mayor of the city, attended the activity and delivered a speech. Zhang noted that food safety should be ranked first. Relevant departments should enhance awareness of food safety and strictly carry out their responsibilities. Hai’an should effectively supervise the matter so it can contribute to Hai’an’s status as a food safety demonstration city and a national civilized city.
