A new crop protection formulation plant from Syngenta, a global leader in agricultural technology, began operations on Jan 24 in the Nantong Economic and Technological Development Area (NETDA).

Syngenta is headquartered in Basel, Switzerland, and operates in seeds, crop protection, and advanced agricultural services.

With a total investment of approximately 680 million yuan ($97.96 million), the new plant is a key investment project for Syngenta in China, focusing on efficient, safe, and environmentally friendly patented crop protection products.

Once fully operational, the plant is expected to produce over 20,000 metric tons annually, better satisfying the demand for consistent supplies of premium crop protection products in China's agriculture.

Syngenta has been present in NETDA for over 25 years. Its factory is equipped with advanced automated production lines and intelligent three-dimensional warehouses. By integrating production, warehousing, laboratories, engineering, and energy management systems, it has achieved comprehensive digital control of the entire process.

On the day of the event, Swiss Ambassador to China, Krystyna Marty, and Syngenta CEO, Jeff Rowe, witnessed the commencement of operations at the new plant.
