As of March 31, the five-month natural gas supply guarantee in Rudong county, Jiangsu province, has ended. During that period, the PetroChina Jiangsu LNG Terminal on Sunshine Island in Rudong unloaded 35 LNG ships and exported 4.6 billion cubic meters of natural gas.

Its unloading scale and export gas volume increased by 9 percent from the previous winter supply season, providing a guarantee that demand for gas and industrial production would be met in the Yangtze River Delta (YRD) region.

The terminal currently ranks as the natural gas supply base with the largest turnover and strongest peak shaving capacity in the YRD region. It has six LNG storage tanks with a total capacity of 1.08 million cu m.

Based on the calculation that 1 cu m of LNG can be gasified into 625 cu m of natural gas, the depot can reserve 670 million cu m of natural gas at full capacity. That is sufficient to ensure the continuous gas consumption of 23 million households for one month during the peak winter supply period.

During that winter period, the station achieved a record of unloading 10 LNG ships in a month and exporting up to 42 million cu m in a single day by dynamically refining the ship-receiving plan and production operation arrangement.
