The public welfare clean beach action carried out in Yuantuojiao Resort, Qidong, East China's Jiangsu province, recently won gold in the 2rd Nantong Volunteer Service Project Competition.

Yuantuojiao Resort is located north of the estuary of the Yangtze River, where the Yangtze River, the East China Sea and the Yellow Sea meet. It is the first place to see the sunrise in Jiangsu province, and has 18 kilometers of coastline.

There are currently nearly 400 volunteers participating in the public welfare clean beach action. Volunteers carry out activities such as regular patrols and protection, publicize the fishing moratorium, and clean beaches.

In the past five years, the resort has carried out more than 170 volunteer service activities to protect its beautiful coastline. More than 5,900 people participated in the activities, spending a total service time of 92,700 hours. Litter on the beach has been markedly reduced and the beach environment has been significantly improved.
