Qidong among China's top 100 counties in investment competitiveness

The county-level city of Qidong in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, was recently included on the 2022 list of China's top 100 counties in investment competitiveness released by CCID Consulting Co Ltd.

The city ranked 31st, the highest ranking in Nantong.

Investment competitiveness is a comprehensive evaluation of regional government service quality, investment vitality, infrastructure support and the natural environment.

In the first three quarters of this year, the city's GDP totaled 107.24 billion yuan ($15.19 billion), a year-on-year increase of 2.4 percent.

During the period, the city completed 46.79 billion yuan in fixed asset investment, up 3.3 percent year-on-year. Investment in the manufacturing industry exceeded 22.14 billion yuan, an increase of 14.8 percent year-on-year, while that in the high-tech industry was 11.32 billion yuan, a surge of 57.1 percent year-on-year. Investment in construction and installation projects amounted to 35.32 billion yuan, up 22.8 percent year-on-year.
